Executive Director of the International Dates Council Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz toured several date factories in Madinah and reviewed operations and production lines.
The tour included a review of production stages, technologies used for sorting and packaging, quality standards, and efforts to develop products in line with local and global market requirements.
During the visit, she discussed issues related to Madinah date exports, including logistical and procedural challenges factories face in delivering products to overseas markets, and ways to address them. She also stressed expanding processing industries to raise added value and reduce reliance on exporting raw dates, strengthening the competitiveness of national products.
She underscored the private sector’s role in developing the dates sector and the need for integrated efforts between producers and relevant entities to support food security, increase exports, and reach new global markets.
