Meet The Saudi Women Who Heads One Of The Top Art Institutes in KSA

Meet Reem Al-Sultan, the Saudi Arabian woman who heads one of the best destinations in the kingdom for culture and art. Misk Art Institute is a non-profit cultural organization that enables the local community of creatives in Saudi Arabia through providing for them an consistent and organized ecosystem of support through various resources of expertise and education.

Al-Sultan is the CEO, who is currently working as part of a bigger team to help enhance and advance the art community in Saudi Arabia, and consequently the region. Throughout her work, she has been mainly the brains behind the strategic direction of the Misk Art Institute. Her expertise falls within various fields that entails change management, organizational development, and the across-the-board projects and programs that helped change the lives of a lot of individuals.

As a gesture to recognize her impactful work and career that has always served the community, she was awarded during the National Cultural Awards on behalf of Misk Art Institute.

Before Al-Sultan took on the position of the Chief Executive Officer, she had worked previously as a Portfolio Manager at the King Salman Youth Center. Even though her professional endeavors that spanned over 15 years were mainly grounded in business strategy, she originally comes from a humanities educational background. The CEO had earned her undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature at Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University. The business powerhouse then went on to pursue a postgraduate diploma in Project Management in the United States of America.

Her educational journey did not stop there, as she continued to earn her MBA from Hochschule Furtwangen in Germany, and another Executive MBA from Al Yamamah University in Riyadh.

Misk Art Institute operates through various initiatives to support the community starting from their Artist Support and Education department which entails three main areas: Misk Art Residences, Misk art Grant, and Training and Development. They also have a Research and Publications division where people can access Misk’s resources that they have been documenting for some years now, and The Art Library.
